Trillanes to file complaints vs dela Rosa’s absence on Senate sessions

Reports by:

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV intends to file an ethics complaint against Senator Ronald dela Rosa due to his continuous absences from work, since Nov. 2025, after the allegations of his warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Two months have passed since dela Rosa was hiding from the allegations, yet despite his absence for the hearings and sessions, dela Rosa continued signing documents, such as the minority report related to the investigation of the anomalies of the flood control projects.

According to the Senate Ethics Committee Chairman JV Ejercito, if Trillanes plans to file a complaint against dela Rosa, the recommendation for suspension must be from the Ethics Committee.

The Ethics Committee will only then work once there is an ethics complaint against the Senator, but as of now, the Ethics Committee has not been completed since the congress is on vacation.

Dela Rosa and Senator Joel Villanueva were replaced as members of the senate committee on ethics and privileges by Senator Imee Marcos and Senator Dante Marcoleta, which was motioned by the Majority Leader Senator Juan Miguel Subiri due to the conflict of interest.
